At The Pinetree School, we believe that a successful “Student Voice” is integral to nurturing responsible, collaborative and pro-active young people. The Student Voice aims to build a sense of community and strength within the schools mission statement “Engage, Educate, Empower”.  The aim of the Student Voice is to create and maintain a respectful and formalised student body to represent students’ views that can help inform the decision making process for pastoral, academic and whole school development.

The Student Voice gives representation from every year group the opportunity to meet regularly for debate and make decisions. Student Voice has been integral to a number of key developments within the school community including, the introduction of the school uniform and the structure and development of the new Behaviour Management rewards and consequences system introduced this year.

We want our students at The Pinetree School to become actively involved at the heart of the learning community thus contributing to the school’s culture and ethos.  For students to become more involved in school life, it will help them gain essential life skills, including:

  • LEADERSHIP
  • TEAM WORK
  • RESPONSIBILITY
  • RAISING SELF ESTEEM
  • IMPROVING SELF CONFIDENCE
  • SUPPORTING AND DEVELOPING REWARDS
